Set of 5 greeting cards of my series of photo interventions "Des Hommes et Fleurs".
This series of vintage photos are all of women who are theater actresses and burlesque dancers from the 30's. At the time, these women were considered to be the most liberated and free, still behind the courtains of the stage they had very little freedom and many were living horrible stories and being paid less than their male counterparts.
Through history women have had less opportunities to express themselves and do what they want with their lives without being able to voice out our desires. This series talks about those silences women have kept through the years. Still today women around the world keep quiet because we are scared, because we think we cannot be heard and because we live in societies that treat us unfairly. I hope one day we all can shout together and be free!
The illustrations are done on my Intuos tablet directly on the photos.
